Nike NFL Combat Uniforms, Combat clothing has experienced several changes this past decade. The general uniform for the Army, for example, was replaced, while the camouflage pattern used for all uniforms was revised to have better blending properties. Additionally, conditions in Afghanistan resulted in changes to cold weather clothing systems.
The Army Combat Uniform (ACU) is the latest uniform by the military. The material is sturdier and the combat clothing replaces the older Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) and Desert Camouflage Uniform (DCU). The clothing was designed with hook and loop fasteners on pockets and for attachments and uses Near Infrared Signature Management Technology to Nike NFL Combat Uniforms prevent glare. As combat clothing needs to integrate with a load-carrying system, ACU fits with the Improved Outer Tactical Vest body armor.
While ACU was introduced to units in 2005, cold weather clothing systems also went through changes around that time. The GEN III Extended Climate Warfighter Clothing System (ECWCS) started development in 2003 by the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center and was tested a year later with the 10th Mountain Division and 82nd Airborne Division. Proper issue for the garments began in 2008.
ECWCS combat clothing has been issued since the mid-1980s to soldiers in cold weather regions. Previous systems, however, only Nike NFL Combat Uniforms addressed cold-wet and cold-dry temperature conditions. GEN III, on the other hand, is adaptable to a broader range of temperatures and climates through moisture management principles Nike NFL Combat Uniforms and layers for insulation.
GEN III lets soldiers adapt to climates ranging from -40°F to 60°F and has seven layers divided into three groups. The base layers, worn against the skin, are lightweight and wick away moisture from the skin. The insulation layers, worn on top of base garments, trap warm air. The outer shell layers protect against wind and moisture and are designed for extreme cold weather. Outer garments, additionally, use the MultiCam pattern.
